Mars transits into the sign of Leo this summer further intensifying the astrological skies. Mars in Cancer bought up many near explosive showdowns with passive-aggressive confrontations, some inner wounds that needed resolutions and an increased drive to balance familial & financial foundations. Moving into the sign of creative & authentic self-expression, Mars is sure to feel more comfortable spending time with a fellow fire element. Mars will transit through Leo from May 20, 2023 to July 10, 2023 bringing more excitement, fun and enthusiasm.

Mars in Leo will rejuvenate our self-confidence and help us find our inner voice of courage. There is bound to be excitement and the need for socializing. So, vacation, festivals, concerts, get-to-gathers, outings with friends, romantic dates, etc. are certainly on the calendar. Self-doubt and creative-mental-emotional blocks you might have had previously (especially through the recent Mercury Retrograde in Taurus) will likely be replaced with renewed inspiration. The late summer of 2023 will get a fresh momentum forward through Mars’s passionate drive. 

Mars here will make you extra protective of your heart and your loved ones. Your focus may be more on your goals, and on romance. So, if you are interested in love, whether you are hitched, in a relationship or looking for “the one”, this can prove to be a significant time for a late-summer romance. 

Mars in Cancer & Jupiter in Aries have already started their “side-eye staring contest” with a potent Square but as Jupiter & Mars both enter Taurus & Leo (respectively, exact on May 23), the Square between them will be further intensified by Mars’s opposition with Pluto in Aquarius (exact Opposition on May 21), essentially all three planets adding to the tense (and dense) T-Square in the fixed signs (stubborn of them all). This is the time to stand your ground against anyone/anything that may be threatening your independence, ambitions & authority. 

It is however important not to let your emotions (/ego) get in the way while trying to prove your point, since your words/actions or the other person’s words/actions can easily invoke an extra tense fight for superiority. Either way, this astrological climate is quite fragile that can instantly collapse into ego-battles. Any effort towards gaining your independence, freeing from toxic/stressful situations, regaining control over your own life, rebuilding your monetary structure, etc. will be met with opposition in some form. 

Navigating through such obstacles will need strategy and a bit of patience, since otherwise things can go ballistic in an instant. Fighting for your passions and chasing your goals will give you immense satisfaction. Mars in Leo & Jupiter in Taurus in particular will start to rebuild our confidence and endurance. Our self-esteem and inner strength will hence go through major upgrades (so to speak). Since Mars will also make a brief square to North Node (in Taurus), you might feel a little resistant towards the sudden inevitable changes taking place in your life (which were initiated since the Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio on May 5, 2023 & the continuing square of Pluto & North Node). 

But, this build-up of inner-tension will also ignite your passion to make the necessary readjustments to your path. Gaining clarity on “your life purpose, what you need to release and what your next mission is, etc.” will be through such internal-struggles, introspections and unexpected external circumstances that will push you towards your right choices during this period.

Mars will make a fabulous conjunction with Lilith in Leo on June 21, 2023. Lilith in Leo has already sparked a process of immense transformation to reignite our passion for life, which will get a positive boost of energy from Mars. Our self-confidence (also sex-appeal 😉😘😝) will be over the roof, helping us access our innate charisma and allure. Mars also makes a Square with Uranus in Taurus from the mid part of June 2023 which can cause issues with impatience. There may be high-risk of making impulsive decisions, especially if previously you were stuck in a delayed process or in a pinch. Speeding through the check-points at this time will only exhaust you, making you lose momentum in the process. So, careful redirection of all the restless & impatient energies from this square can bring much more tangible results, leaving room for innovative brainstorming and clever detours. 

Mars in Leo this year will make way for some much needed inner-child healing, bringing back the ability to enjoy and accept true happiness.
